Sofa Sessions coming back to C. Wilson Studios...

For the past two years, the "Sofa Sessions" have been one of my treasures that brings the beauty of the Outdoors and History of an old building to life.  Our first year was a beautiful setting on the farm with broom straw and open fields.

It would tickle me when someone would ask, "Why is there a sofa in the middle of a field?"  My thought is this...why keep the beauty of a loving and fun family inside all the time.  Share the comforts of home with the beauty of nature that God has created for us.

The treasure of last year's sessions just melted my heart.  There is nothing like bringing a little life back to an old building that has been abandoned for over 30 years.  Built in 1919, the warehouse used in the 2011 sessions was one of my greatest treasures.  To watch families come inside and feel a the history made these sessions all the more intriguing.  Not to mention a lasting reminder to hang on the wall for a family sharing in a moment of timeless memories.

For 2012 we will be again changing the theme.  I am so excited about the location and the look of these sessions.  Old history with a twist.  Samples of some of the sofa sessions from previous years are shown and in a couple of weeks see the new set that we are offering.

Sessions begin September 1st and run through Thanksgiving or later (weather depending) Session fee of $50.00 and by appointment only.

Watch for our upcoming images of the latest "Sofa Sessions" offered in the coming days.

New Beginnings...

I think that sometimes we fight what we know is best and try in every way to take advantage of the technology and advances that we as individuals have gotten so far in achieving.

Computers, iPhones, iPads and mobile computing is almost like having an arm, take one away and we don't know how to respond in circumstances or in every day functioning.

I admire individuals who don't have Facebook, MySpace or Smartphones. It only goes to show that there is a simpler life out there and it is up to us to make sacrifices in finding that little bit of quiet each day to find it.

As I sit here and type this I realize that my life, my husband and my daughter are in the same triangle of social technology and computing. It is all an education in the world around us.

Walt Disney once said "No one can have a well-rounded education without some knowledge of what goes on the physical world around us"

Some of my education begins now.

For those that do not know me well, I am a Disney Fanatic, crave for the days of ole and cherish where we have been.

I see old buildings and run down barns and think about the history of what it was. I do not know who said "You have to know where you have been to get where you are going" but it has stayed with me from the first moment I heard it.

In the coming days I will showcase some of what I call my treasures...Old Barns, Farms, What Was and What could be again. To take something that only the naked eye would see as run down and old to be turned into a masterpiece to displayed for years to come.

I am not offering the 1980's version of "image in a glass" or my favorite classic "Butterfly Borders" what I offer is bring the old back to life and give what may be an old barn to you a fresh outlook of what used to be.
